AEON AND VISA KICKSTARTS CHINESE NEW YEAR FESTIVITY BY GIVING AWAY A HONDA HRV
Also launches AEON's "CaiCai Wang" 2016 CNY Campaign

Bukit Tinggi, 7 January 2016 -Chinese New Year celebrations have begun at AEON Co (M)Bhd as the leading retailer, alongside VISA Malaysia presented the winners of AEON 31st anniversary's "Answer & Win" contest with their prizes today.

AEON Executive Director, MrPoh Ying Loo, said, "The recent 'Answer & Win' contest received an encouraging number of submissions. We are constantly seeking ways to engage our loyal customers in funcontests and activities-it is also our way of saying thank you."

Held last year, the contest ran from September to November and required AEON shoppers to make a minimum purchase with their VISA cards, then answer a simple question. While a few lucky AEON winners walked away with iPhone 6 and the Sony 60" Smart LED TV, AEON member point and AEON Gift Voucher. Maggie Gan, proved to be the biggest victor of the night as she scored 31,000 AEON member points and was handed the keys to a brand new Honda HRV.

In addition to the prize giving ceremony, the event held at AEON Bukit Tinggi also doubled as the launch of AEON's 2016 Chinese New Year campaign.

Themed "caicaiwang", translated as "prosper together", the Chinese phrase is an ode to the support that AEON Co (M) Bhd has been receiving from its loyal customers for the past 32 years. MrPoh elaborated, "With the upcoming Year of the Monkey, we felt 'caicaiwang' is a fitting theme. Not only is it a play on words that relate to the Monkey King (a popular Chinese novel character) and money (in the Malay language), it also extends as our sincere wish of prosperity to the customers."

As part of the campaign, fantastic promotions and exciting activities have been lined up. During the duration of the campaign, which runs from 9 January till 7 February 2016, AEON Co (M) Bhd will be giving away reusable bags and ang pau packets at a minimum purchase. In collaboration with HSBC, AEON and MaxValu shoppers also stand a chance to walk away with Thermos food jars and an 8% cash back when they make purchases with their HSBC credit cards.

Taking the celebration to social media, AEON Co (M) Bhd is also organizing a month-long Facebook and Instagram contest, where lucky participants will be put in the running to win a share of more than RM10,000 AEON gift vouchers as well as a Zwilling TWIN Point Slicing Knife.

AEON Co (M) Bhd is also offering a limited edition Chinese New Year member card (valid for three years at RM24) for membership renewals and new sign-ups, and throwing in a discount of RM12 in membership fee plus 300 free AEON member points.
